Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar has suspended Narendra Gehlaut, the Incharge of the Clementown police station for dereliction of duties in the high profile case of looting and demolition of house of a deceased Naval officer by alleged land mafia. The suspended officer had failed to act on the repeated pleas of the wife and daughter of the Naval officer and rather rebuked and threatened them with registration of cases against them.<\/p>\n
In a bizarre case, the British era house of a deceased naval officer in Clementown area of Dehradun\u00a0 city was razed to the ground and all the belongings looted by the land mafia in alleged connivance with the police on January 7, 2022. Kusum Kapoor, wife of the deceased naval officer was residing in the said property with her mentally challenged daughter and had gone to NOIDA on January 7, 2022 for some work when her house was raided and demolished.<\/p>\n
After running from pillar to post for justice, the mother-daughter duo had a tough in meeting the Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police janmejay Khanduri who feigned ignorance about the case and made them wait for hours together.<\/p>\n
Finally, when they contacted Uttarakhand Police DGP that he took serious cognizance of the matter and ordered that a case be registered. However, the station Incharge registered a case but in lighter sections in an alleged attempt to help the culprits. An FIR was registered under sections 147, 452,447,427,323, 506 of the IPC. This infuriated the DGP who ordered the suspension of the Clementown police station Incharge Narendra Gehlaut.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, two policemen have also been deployed for the security of the mother-daughter duo.<\/p>\n
