Uttarakhand government has placed a helicopter at Dharchula Army helipad to be used for emergency services during monsoon months. ” The helicopter has reached Dharchula on Thursday and has been anchored Army helipad,” said Nandan Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dharchula.<\/p>\n
According to the SDM, the helicopter service will be used to lift the people from their respective villages situated at high altitude valleys of Vyans, Darma and Johar \u00a0of Dharchula and Munsiyari sub- divisions besides\u00a0 comparatively lower altitude situated villages of\u00a0Karar and Baram valleys.<\/p>\n
” The helicopter will be used to send immediate medical relief, rescue people from trapped locations during disaster emergencies and ferry people to and from\u00a0 their respective villages at higher altitude. The fares of the sorties is yet to be determined and will be set keeping in mind the paying capacity of the local people , “said the SDM.<\/p>\n
Expressing happiness at stationing of a helicopter for emergency use in Dharchula, local people have said that it will give great relief to villagers who face closure of track and motor routes due to disasters during monsoon months and forced to remain cut off from rest of the district.<\/p>\n
“The incidents of landslides due to heavy rains and\u00a0 cloud bursts are common in this sensitive region during monsoon months, ” said Dhan Singh Dhami, block pramukh of Dharchula block.” We hope the fares of heli services will be determined according to the paying\u00a0 capacity of the local people,” the block pramukh said.<\/p>\n
