Eight themes identified for futuristic India<\/p>\n

A two- day consultative workshop on\u00a0\u00a0\u201cBharat@100 (India@2047)\u201d, organized jointly by Pahle India Foundation (PIF), Indian Himalayan Central University Consortium (IHCUC), Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU)\u00a0and coordinated by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of HNB Garhwal University concluded on December 2 ,2022.<\/p>\n
Dr. Rajiv Kumar, \u00a0former Vice- Chairman of Niti Aayog, Government of India and the founder Chairman of Pahle India Foundation was the chief guest, Chancellor, Dr. Yogendra Narain IAS (retd.) chaired the session on the first day and Vice- Chancellor of the University,\u00a0Professor Annapurna Nautiyal\u00a0coordinated the event. The workshop was attended by the heads of the institutions or their representatives of IHCUC.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion , Dr.Rajiv Kumar, said that India is undergoing a socio, economic and political transition. He said that India \u00a0is a diverse country and one policy does not fit the entire country. It is in this context that he identified the need for collaboration amongst institutions to develop a policy framework for the country by the times it celebrate its 100th independence day.<\/p>\n
Pahle India foundation identified eight themes for which experts will be empanelled and IHCUC will play a major role in it. The themes included (i) science technology, digital economy, MSMEs, supply chain and globally competitive manufacturing, climate change and sustainability, agriculture and natural resources, Global political economy \u00a0Urbanization, \u00a0human resource development, \u00a0macro economics and financial research unit.<\/p>\n
Vice-Chancellor Professor Annapurna Nautiyal\u00a0, in her comments said that IHCUC is the best platforms to discuss the issues related to waste management, human resource development, identification of political cultural needs and find solutions to them. She reiterated that there is a need to make the youth civic minded and discipline oriented.<\/p>\n
Chancellor, Dr. Yogendra Narain IAS (retd), in his remarks said that the eight themes identified by PFI have wide ramifications for the society. He reiterated the need to go back to the concept of \u2018Providing Urban facilities in Rural Areas(PURA)\u2019, which was envisioned by former President of India, A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Scientists, professors, vice chancellors of IHCUC institutions shared their opinions and made policy suggestions for a better India in 2047. An MoU for mutual collaboration was signed between Pahle India Foundation and Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University .<\/p>\n
On the second day, there was a consultative workshop on the same theme with the students of HNB Garhwal University which was chaired by Indian Himalayan Central University Consortium (IHCUC) and coordinated by Director of IQAC, Prof.R.C. Sundriyal. Students from all streams of the university actively participated in the brain storming session and provided their views on the kind of India they envision for future. They also provided key policy suggestions and they were well taken \u00a0Impressed by the students response, Mr.Ravi, M.D of PHI came forward to offer internships and placements for the students of H.N.B.G.U. Professor Annapurna Nautiyal thanked PFI for this initiative and welcomed it. The workshop concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof.R.C.Sundriyal .<\/p>\n
