Renowned food scientist Dr. Narpinder Singh appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Graphic Era University<\/p>\n

Dr. Narpinder Singh, a renowned food scientist, today took charge as the new Vice-Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University.\u00a0 Dr. Narpinder Singh, who is included in the list of top one percent scientists of the world of \u2018Web of Science\u2019, has been associated with renowned universities of Japan, America, Britain and China.\u00a0 Dr. Singh, who has been awarded many national and international awards in the field of education and research, for his work for the past 33 years.<\/p>\n
Dr. Narpinder Singh has the distinction of achieving an H-index of 83 in Google Scholar in terms of research papers.\u00a0 He has more than 23 thousand citations.\u00a0 Dr. Singh, who made his debut in the field of education in 1993 as an associate professor at Guru Nanak Dev University, was awarded with Commonwealth Scholarship in 1994.\u00a0 He received the Pran Vohra Award in the year 1997 for outstanding research in food processing.\u00a0 In the year 2000, he became Professor of Food Science and Technology.\u00a0 He was also Dean and Coordinator for many years in the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.<\/p>\n
Along with many prestigious awards of the country, Dr. Singh was included in the list of two percent best scientists of the world in Chemistry by Stanford University last year and placed with 18th position in India.\u00a0 He has been visiting professor at the Department of Food and Human Health Sciences, Osaka City University, Japan, Department of Grain Science and Industry, State University, USA, School of Chemical Sciences and Pharmacy, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK and School of Chemical Sciences, South China University of Technology.\u00a0 He has been associated with Food Science and Engineering.<\/p>\n
He has also received Excellence in Carbohydrate Research Award 2016, CNR Rao Educational Foundation Award for Excellence in Research 2007, National Academy of Agricultural Sciences for his distinguished work in the field of Agricultural Engineering and Technology.\u00a0 He has received fellowships from Association of Food Scientists and Technologists, National Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy and National Academy of Agricultural Sciences.\u00a0 He has also received the JC Bose National Fellowship from the Department of Science and Technology.<\/p>\n
Dr. Narpinder Singh took charge as the Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University today.
