Efforts of some government teachers to attract children to government run schools having started paying as over a record 4930 new students have taken admissions in government schools of the district this new academic session of 2023 2024.<\/p>\n
“We have this year organised an admission campaign as known as \u201cPraveshotsava\u201d (admission festival), campaign in which the admission day was flagged as a ceremonial day. The campaign to attract children to \u00a0government schools, paid well and by April 14, we could get 4930 new admissions\u00a0including 1400 new students to primary and secondary schools. The ,maximum students have been admitted in class 9th<\/sup>,” said A.K. Jukaria, Chief Education Officer of Pithoragarh\u00a0district.<\/p>\n According to the reports reaching the district headquarter, besides in local schools namely Mission inter college, SDS intermediate College and GGIC, the \u201cPraveshotsava\u201d was also celebrated at Munsiyari, Gurna, Gangolihat of Pithoragarh district and\u00a0 Tanakpur and Champawat\u00a0 localities of Champawat district.<\/p>\n ” The guardians have now started understanding the value of Goverment education system and the students are gradually turning towards these as infrastructural facilities in these schools are far better than those of private schools,” said Vinod Singh Matura, Block Education Officer of Munsiyari, who led the \u201cPraveshotsava\u201d programme in Atal Utkrasta Government Inter College,(GIC), Munsiyari.<\/p>\n “We have proved with our committed efforts at Gurna primary school that if\u00a0 given full attention to students needs, the faith towards government schools can return,” said Shubhash Joshi,\u00a0 a teacher in primary school Gurna, who has been credited with increasing a mere 13 students in the school in 2016 to 260 \u00a0presently.\u00a0“We also provide English classes by smart classes in school.
