{"id":3480,"date":"2023-07-07T08:39:38","date_gmt":"2023-07-07T08:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/?p=3480"},"modified":"2023-07-07T08:39:38","modified_gmt":"2023-07-07T08:39:38","slug":"chal-village-cut-off-after-cloud-burst-in-darma-valley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/index.php\/2023\/07\/07\/chal-village-cut-off-after-cloud-burst-in-darma-valley\/","title":{"rendered":"Chal village cut off after cloud burst in Darma valley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chal village cut off after cloud burst in Darma valley<\/p>\n<p>B.D.Kasniyal<\/p>\n<p>Pithoragarh, July 7<\/p>\n<p>More than a hundred villagers of Chal village of Darma valley, have been trapped in their village after the trolley, that links the village with outside world, was washed away\u00a0in a flash floods in river Dhauli, due to a cloudburst \u00a0in the valley\u00a0 last evening, administration sources said in Pithoragarh.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The village has been delinked due to flooded river Dhauli, but there was no report of any loss to life and property.&#8221; said Reena Joshi, Pithoragarh District Magistrate.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-3480-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"352\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Chalvillage.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Chalvillage.mp4\">https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Chalvillage.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>According to the villagers, Chal village is situated on the other side of river Dhauli\u00a0 and a trolley has been installed to cross the river.&#8221; There was an iron bridge across the river which was washed away in the June 2013 disaster.
