Keeping in mind the forthcoming parliamentary elections in India, armed Border guards of India and Nepal, have intensified patrolling stints in their respective territories across river Kali, which form the border between the two countries in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand with an aim to check the movement of anti social elements crossing the borders through illegal routes.<\/p>\n
“As the polling dates are nearing in concerned constituency, we are getting full cooperation of armed police force of Nepal in taking patrolling along their territory to nab such elements who could disturbed the polling process in Indian general elections,” said T. During Dorji, a Sahastra Seema Dal (SSB) officer of the 55th battalion that looks after the Indo-Nepal border.<\/p>\n
According to the SSB officer, while SSB is taking special attention in sensitive location of river, from Pairi to Seemu nullah via Kanri village, their counterpart Nepalese border guards are patrolling\u00a0from Joolaghat (Nepal) market to\u00a0 Seemu nullah of Nepal.<\/p>\n
“We are doing intense patrolling to keep our elections free from any disturbances and the Nepalese armed border guards are giving full support,” said Dorji, the SSB officer.<\/p>\n
Nepalese administrative officers from the districts of Darchula, Baitari and Dadeldhura, have on March 19 this year had\u00a0 assured their counterpart Indian administration officers from Pithoragarh and Champawat districts to provide full cooperation in conducting parliamentary elections in India and keep full alert on \u00a0Nepalese border side against any activity of border crossing into India\u00a0 by suspicious elements.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the joint patrolling by border armed forces of both the countries is also being conducted at Banbasa border at Indo-Nepal border in Champawat district.<\/p>\n
” The armed police force of Nepal fully cooperated when we took patrolling from Dhanush Pull to Garbigoth camps today,” said Manohar Lal, commandant of 57th battalion of SSB at Banbasa.<\/p>\n
