in order to find \u2018Parikrama Path\u2019 of\u00a0 holi \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 peak( 5925 m), a three \u00a0member mountaineering\u00a0 team of \u2018Climbing Beyond The Summits\u2019 (CBTS) undertook an expedition to circumambulate the peak and traced a way to make \u2018Parikrama\u2019 of the peak considered holi by Hindus.<\/p>\nA three member mountaineering team of \u2018Climbing Beyond The Summits\u2019 (CBTS) which undertook an expedition to circumambulate the ‘Adi Kailash’ peak.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
“We undertook the expedition with Alpine style climbing method and succeeded in outlining \u2018Parikrama\u2019 route of the peak,” said Yogesh Garbiyal, team leader of the expedition and Director of CBTS.<\/p>\nClimbing to Adi Kailash Peak<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The expedition members reached down to 60 meters from peak and keeping the sanctity of peak in mind, completed survey there.”Even several other expeditions to \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019, including the team of Martin Moren in 2002 and Tim Woodword team in 2004, finished their expedition below several hundred meters due to reverence of the holy peak,” said Garbiyal.<\/p>\nA view from Adi Kailash<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
According to Garbiyal, the \u2018Parikrama\u2019 path could start from Bidang location of Darma valley\u00a0and could go through Sinla pass towards Jolingkong and north western part of the peak.”The total circumference comes to a total of 40 km,” said Garbiyal.<\/p>\n
\u2018Adi Kailash\u2019, the\u00a0 second peak among \u2018Panch\u00a0 Kailash\u2019 after \u2018Kailash Mansarowar\u2019 as first and is counted amongst three other peaks of \u2018Mani Mahesh\u2019, \u2018Kinnar Kailash\u2019 and\u00a0\u2018Srikhand Mahadev\u2019 peaks located in Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n‘Parwati Sarowar’ (in circle) as seen from ‘Adi Kailash’ peak.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The three members of mountaineering expedition were Yogesh Garbiyal, Kala Baral and Meenakshi Rawat. “The expedition with total six members started on May 10, and completed the task on May 17, after reaching 60 meters below the peak,” claimed Garbiyal.<\/p>\n
