HNB Garhwal University to organise \u2018Science in the Himalayas Study tour\u2019 with University of Canberra, Australia<\/p>\n

The HNB Garhwal Central University in collaboration with University of Canberra, Australia would be hosting a unique three week programme \u2018Science in the Himalayas Study tour\u2019 in the month of November 2024.<\/p>\n
The University of Canberra has opened the applications for its students enrolled in Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Environmental Science and Bachelor of Medical Sciences to apply for the \u2018Science in the Himalayas study tour\u2019 starting from November 5 till 23, 2024. The students attending the tour would earn three academic credits points in their respective degrees. The last date for applications is June 30,2024.<\/p>\n
The University of Canberra is ranked amongst the top 200 universities of the world and Australia\u2019s top 10 universities, and since last few years have consistently been improving its rank globally.<\/p>\n
The adventure of the \u2018Science in the Himalayas study tour\u2019 would commences in the lively streets of New Delhi for a short stopover for the participants who would then proceed to Rishikesh, to explore the renowned “Yoga Capital of the World”<\/p>\n
and the “Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas,” for a rejuvenating Yoga retreat at an \u2018Ashram\u2019. The students will also visit the iconic \u2018Beatles Ashram\u2019, also known as \u2018Chaurasi Kutia\u2019, the famous ashram where the world best known bands meditated and composed music in 1968. The tour group then would venture to Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU) in Srinagar, situated in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand on the banks of river Alaknanda and indulge and engage in exciting projects, captivating science lectures, interactive sessions \u00a0and \u00a0practical labs to earn their academic credits besides discovering the Himalayas and the world.It would also give an opportunity for the participants to explore the diverse cultures of India.<\/p>\n
It was under the able leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Annpurna Nautiyal who is consistently striving for quantitative and qualitative increase in the research and improve upon the national rankings of the university that a \u2018Science in Himalayas Study Tour\u2019 was envisaged.<\/p>\n
In line with the vision of the Vice chancellor, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) \u00a0was signed with the University of Canberra, Australia in March 2024.\u00a0 Professor G.K. Joshi, Head, Department of Biotechnology represented the HNB Garhwal University for signing the the MoU.<\/p>\n
Professor Annpurna Nautiyal, Vice Chancellor of HNB Garhwal University, hoped that this unique program will increase the exposure of the students of the Garhwal University and make them aware of the current global academic scenario.<\/p>\n
