Unique styles showcased at Graphic Era University\u2019s fashion show \u2018Tasva\u2019<\/p>\n

Young Designers of Graphic Era University have taken a new initiative by designing garments with natural products to promote the concept of environment protection through their designs.<\/p>\n
A fashion presentation show based on sustainability titled \u2018Tasva\u2019 was organized in Graphic Era\u2019s Prof. K. P. Nautiyal Auditorium, today. In the show, models wearing garments based on various cultures were seen spreading charm on the ramp walk. Chief guest and celebrity designer Dr. Sanjanaa Jon appreciated the confidence and enthusiasm of students and said that having passion for fashion is very important. Garments made of Himalayan Stinging Nettle ( Kandali) received appreciation from the audience. Garments based on \u2018Kulluvi\u2019 and \u2018leheria\u2019 dance forms of Himachal Pradesh and belt based on \u2018pattoo\u2019 and \u2018gacchi\u2019 were the highlights of the event. These garments also showcased Himachali women\u2019s culture of weaving handloom fabrics.<\/p>\n
A garment collection inspired by the Sundry tribe of Nagaland showcased elements like motifs, hornbill, beads, shells, dab & spear and geometric patterns. Garments based on the Nawabs of Awadh and renowned painter M. F. Hussain\u2019s painting \u2018Trimurti\u2019 received applauses from the audience. In the show, young designers showcased some unique designs that were created by using pre consumer waste, scraps, old and already used denim.<\/p>\n
The young designers who showcased their vibrant garment collections include designer of \u2018Astitva\u2019 collection Shristha Bhandar, designer of \u2018Taana- Baana\u2019 Shruti Tiwari and Nikita Rawat, designer of \u2018Pret-a- Closet\u2019 Deepika Rawat and Nikhil Negi, designer of \u2018Verve\u2019 collection and \u2018Riwayat\u2019 collection Nikhil Negi and designer of \u2018Urbane Chic\u2019 Ashmita and Anweeta.<\/p>\n
The Fashion show was organized by Department of Fashion Design. Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Jasola, HOD Amrit Das, Dr. Jyoti Chhabra and students were present in the show.<\/p>\n
