More than 30000 pilgrims have till date have visited\u00a0\u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 and \u2018OM Parvat\u2019 region of Vyans valley of Pithoragarh district near Indo-China border.”While we have issued over 28000 inner line permits till date, some pilgrims have applied to get the permits,”said Manjit Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Dharchula.<\/p>\n
“It is double the number of pilgrims to \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 region this year specially after Prime Minister Modi’s visit in October last year, as\u00a0 an average of 12000 pilgrims used to visit \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 before the PM’s visit,” said Dhan Singh camp incharge of Dharchula base camp of yatra managed by Kumoan Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), a state government undertaking which is the nodal agency for the yatra.<\/p>\n
“KMVN has sent nine batches of pilgrims to \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 till date. The yatra will officially closed on November 15, this year, “said the camp in-charge.<\/p>\n
Asked from which part of country the tourist reach here most, the camp incharge said that it is Gujarat and south Indian states from where most of the pilgrims come to have \u2018Darshan\u2019 of \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 peak.<\/p>\n
The KMVN official has said that the pilgrims mostly complains of bad condition of mountainous road and lack of medical facilities at Gunji camp.” While the road from Gunji to Nabhidhang is in\u00a0bad ondition, the medical facility at Gunji camp is not sufficient to meet challenges of high altitude ailments occurring to pilgrims suddenly,” said the official.<\/p>\n
According to tourists official, over 5000 tourists have already visited Panchachuli base camp in Darma valley this year till date.” The number of tourists to Chaukori and Munsiyari is also increasing post PM’s visit last year,” said Kirti Chandra Arya, District Tourist Officer, Pithoragarh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
