Corruption has reached it\u2019s pinnacle in Uttarakhand: Dhasmana<\/p>\n

Suryakant Dhasmana, senior vice-president of Uttarakhand Congress has charged that corruption has surpassed all records having gigantic proportions in Uttarakhand state with active connivance of state ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.<\/p>\n
Addressing media persons here today, Dhasmana questioned the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami about the appointment of \u2018Lokayukta\u2019 (Ombudsman) in the state. He alleged that the state government has deliberately delayed the appointment of \u2018Lokayukta\u2019 in the state since 2017 to give a free run to corruption in the state.<\/p>\n
He further charged that the extension of two years given to Managing Director of Utrrarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) after his retirement despite the fact that he has been facing charges of alleged corruption and disproportionate income cases against him shows that corruption has reached its\u2019 pinnacle in Uttarakhand under BJP rule. The Congress leader said that the case of service extension to Anil Yadav, MD, UPCL clearly indicate that corruption is a non-issue with BJP regime. Further questioning about the service extension issue, he said that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself hold the portfolio of power and it was not possible that such a decision could be taken without his consent and involvement.<\/p>\n
He asked the Chief Minister to explain to the people of the state about the extra ordinary achievements of Anil Yadav for public good during his tenure for which he has been rewarded.<\/p>\n
Asking two questions from Chief Minister Dhami, Dhasmana said that Chief Minister who is accountable to the people of the state should announce that when he is going to appoint a \u2018Lokayukta\u2019 in the state and secondly when the inquiry report about disproportionate income against Anil Yadav would be made public and on what grounds he has been given service extension of two years.<\/p>\n
On the issue of allegations against Bobby Panwar, a youth activist for allegedly abusing and threatening Secretary, Power Meenakshi Sundram in secretariat, Dhasmana said that an impartial inquiry should be conducted as everyone has a right to give opinion and ask questions in a democratic and accountable set up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
