{"id":5924,"date":"2024-11-14T18:45:53","date_gmt":"2024-11-14T13:15:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/?p=5924"},"modified":"2024-11-14T18:45:53","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T13:15:53","slug":"installation-of-capacitor-bank-pcb-by-upcl-will-improve-the-quality-of-power-for-consumers-across-the-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/index.php\/2024\/11\/14\/installation-of-capacitor-bank-pcb-by-upcl-will-improve-the-quality-of-power-for-consumers-across-the-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Installation of Capacitor Bank (PCB) by UPCL will improve the quality of power for consumers across the state"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Installation of Capacitor Bank (PCB) by UPCL will improve the quality of power for consumers across the state<\/p>\n<p>Dehradun , Nov 14<\/p>\n<p>Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL0 has been using modern technology based equipment to strengthen the power distribution system in the uneven geographical structure and adverse weather conditions of Uttarakhand state as part of its\u2019 modernisation drive over the past few years.<\/p>\n<p>UPCL is making every possible effort to strengthen the power sector further as per the directions of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. \u00a0Due to geographical conditions , at some places in the state, the problem of poor power factor (PPF) and low voltage persists mainly due to long spans in hilly areas, leading to possibility of deterioration in the power supply situation.<\/p>\n<p>To overcome this problem, \u00a0UPCL is working on the installation of Capacitor Bank (PCB) for a total of 101 transformers of a total of 61 33\/11 KV substations across the state. Anil Kumar Yadav, \u00a0Managing Director,UPCL, informed \u00a0that the establishment of capacitor bank in the power system network will be a \u00a0huge initiative to improve power supply quality in the state. The work of establishment of capacitor bank across the state by UPCL is proposed to be completed by March 2025 and successful implementation of the scheme will further improve the quality of electricity supply to the consumers. Along with this, the efficiency of irrigation and drinking water projects in the state will also increase due to improvement in the quality of voltage. The establishment of capacitor bank will give relief to the consumers from the problem of low voltage and held reduce the power consumption as Power factor (PFR) will improve.<\/p>\n<p>The distribution system will become more robust and outages will reduce along with speed consumption.
