Manava Bharati school students meet women entrepreneurs and progressive farmer during nature connect programme<\/p>\n

Dehradun , Nov 18<\/p>\n

Under its \u2018Nature Connect Programme\u2019, Manava Bharati School, Dehradun, organized a visit for class 8th students to Thano village to meet women entrepreneurs Gyanbala Rawat and Kiran and Progressive Organic Farmer Rajendra Solanki, learning about their work and held in-depth discussions.<\/p>\n

During the visit, students gained hands-on experience regarding \u00a0skill development, entrepreneurship, and organic farming. They saw vermin composting, Earth worm farming, poly house farming and beekeeping for honey production.<\/p>\n

Manava Bharati School focuses on holistic development beyond classroom learning. A group of 35 class 8th students visited Thano village on November 17, where women entrepreneurs Gyanbala Rawat and Kiran Rawat demonstrated making \u2018Arsa\u2019, a traditional sweet to them. The students asked questions about the recipe, ingredients, marketing, cultural significance, and potential income. The entrepreneurs shared their journey from working in an LED bulb factory to starting their own \u2018Arsa\u2019-making venture. Talking about the success of their venture, they said that they are now receiving orders from Delhi, Mumbai, and Dehradun.<\/p>\n

The students also visited Rajendra Solanki, a progressive farmer in Gundiyal gaon, who explained beekeeping and honey production to the young students.He answered questions about queen bees, necessary precautions, bee boxes, pests, pollination, and honey extraction.<\/p>\n

Students learned about polyhouse farming, drip irrigation systems, and the difference between organic and conventional farming. They saw vermin compost pits and learned about \u201cJeevamrit\u2019, a natural fertilizer made from gur, cow urine, and cow dung. The field trip was guided by teachers Jasleen Kaur, Tanisha, and Shivani.<\/p>\n
