Pithoragarh, Nov 22<\/p>\n

Security personnel and villagers of Darma valley at Indo-China border will have now facility to travel up to last security post of Bidang as Border Road Organisation (BRO) has started construction of a new 23 km long motor road to Bidang post from Tidang village.<\/p>\n

“We have started construction of key road at Indo-China border on November 19. We have already received budget of Rs 77 crore for building 10 km of the total 23 \u00a0km sanctioned road,” said Saurav Kumar, Officer Commanding of 67 Road Construction Company (RCC) of \u00a0BRO.<\/p>\n

According to the BRO officer, the Darma valley is already linked by road\u00a0up to Dhakar village. After Bidang security post gets connected by road, the last security post of Dave in Darma valley will be only 5 km of distance from motor road.”Till date the security personnl have to travel 10 km from Tidang motor head to Bidang security post in Darma valley,” said BRO officer.<\/p>\n

Yogesh Garbiyal, leading mountaineer and Everest winner from Darma valley, said that the trekkers and mountaineers who want to trek to Sinla pass have to cross over to Vyans valley from Darma, will be benefited by the road as they will not have to track a long distance of 10 km from Tidang.”This road even will become alternative to enter to Vyans valley from Sinla pass area if Vyans valley road gets block at Tawaghat due to natural calamities,” said Yogesh.<\/p>\n

The villagers of Darma valley expressed happiness over sanction of motor road to Bidang post and said that it is historical moment for residents of Darma valley as after construction of this portion of road, almost entire Darma villages will have motor connectivity.”It will increase tourism, trekking and trade in Darma valley by giving them round the year road connectivity up to last village of the valley,” said Karan Singh Gwal, president of Diling Darma Sewa Samiti at Dharchula.<\/p>\n
