The President of India in her capacity as a visitor of the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Srinagar has ordered handing over the charge of Vice-Chancellor of the University to Dr. Man Mohan Singh Rauthan, Department of Computer Science and Engineering with immediate effect till a new Vice-chancellor assume charge as the term of prof. Annpurna Nautiyal as Vice-Chancellor had expired.<\/p>\n
Prof. Manmohan Singh Rauthan has an impressive career spanning over three decades, markedby numerous academic and professional accomplishments. Prof. Rauthan completed his M.Sc. in Physics from IIT New Delhi in 1985, followed by an M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering from Roorkee University in 1987. He further strengthened his academic foundation by earning a Ph.D. from Kumaon University, Nainital, Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n
Beginning his career as a programmer at the Government Computer Centre in Bhopal in August 1987, Prof. Rauthan quickly advanced. In 1988, he joined the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in Delhi as a Senior Systems Analyst, where he served until 1995. His dedication and talent earned him an award from the President of India for his exceptional service.<\/p>\n
In 1995, Prof. Rauthan joined G.B. Pant Engineering College, Pauri, as a Reader. His dedication to advancing the field led him to HNB Garhwal University, where he became a Professor in Computer Science & Engineering in 2001. Throughout his time at HNB Garhwal University, Prof. Rauthan held multiple influential roles. He served as the Examination Controller (Computerization) from 2002 to 2011. During this period, he computerized the examination work in the university, which had previously relied on outsourced agencies for examination computerization. Additionally, he spearheaded the Computer Science & Engineering Department as Head since 2001 and took on the role of Examination Controller (PC) from 2007 to 2015.<\/p>\n
Prof. Rauthan\u2019s contributions to HNB Garhwal University further extended when he became Dean of the School of Engineering & Technology from January 2013 to January 2016. Before his tenure at HNB Garhwal University, he also served as the DSW and Training and Placement Officer at G.B. Pant Engineering College, Pauri Garhwal. His extensive experience, leadership, and academic contributions make him a distinguished figure in the field of Computer Science &Engineering in India.<\/p>\n
