{"id":6365,"date":"2025-01-29T18:04:29","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T12:34:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/?p=6365"},"modified":"2025-01-29T18:04:29","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T12:34:29","slug":"uttarakhand-boxing-team-could-prove-to-be-a-dark-horse-in-38th-national-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenortherngazette.com\/index.php\/2025\/01\/29\/uttarakhand-boxing-team-could-prove-to-be-a-dark-horse-in-38th-national-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Uttarakhand boxing team could prove to be a dark horse in 38th National Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Uttarakhand boxing team could prove to be a dark horse in 38<sup>th<\/sup> National Games<\/p>\n<p>B.D.Kasniyal<\/p>\n<p>Pithoragarh, Jan 29<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUttarakhand boxing team is an emerging team and could prove to be dark horse in the boxing competition of the 38th National Games, which are starting at Pithoragarh from January 31,\u201d claimed Bhaskar Bhatt, a former coach of Uttarakhand women boxing team and coach of Uttarakhand boxing team.<\/p>\n<p>Bhatt, a veteran boxing coach\u00a0 also a resident of Pithoragarh district, said that a total of\u00a0 208 boxers, including 112 men and 96 women boxers\u00a0 from different states, will take part in the National Boxing competitions at Hari Datt Kapri stadium at Lelu near Pithoragarh town.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The boxing teams of Assam State, Services, Himachal Pradesh, Hariyana and MP have potentials to make advances but the Uttarakhand team could prove\u00a0 as a \u2018dark horse\u2019 in the competition,&#8221;said Bhaskar Bhatt<\/p>\n<p>The boxing competitions of 38th national games will be held between January 31 to February 7 in Pithoragarh.<\/p>\n<p>The boxing teams from different part of the country have started reaching Pithoragarh to take part in national games.&#8221; To welcome the guests, we have made special lighting arrangements and have also done elaborated arrangements of lodging and boarding of the players and accompanying officials.
