Pithoragarh recently.
” The tunnel seems to have been constructed from 9th to 12th century, that was\u00a0 mid Katyuri era of kumaon history,”said Chandra Singh Chauhan, regional archaeological officer, Almora, who inspected the Tunnel today with his 4 members archiological team, today.

The tunnel is situated at mid place surrounded by a river flowing around the hill.

According to Chauhan, such security\u00a0 tunnels belonging to Kature era have also been discovered in Champawat, Almora and Nainital earlier.”We have find a tunnel in Kalyanpur village of Nainital, that was of double formation.”said Chauhan.
