Dehradun, Feb 23 In the international conference organized in Graphic Era, experts said that spirituality is necessary to ensure that science does not lead towards darkness.
Today was the last day of the two-day international conference on Science, Spirituality and Sustainability 2025 at Graphic Era Deemed University. Addressing the valedictory session of the conference, State Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat as the chief guest said that it is necessary to inspire the youth towards spirituality so that their personality can develop. He told the teachers that along with education, information about the scriptures should also be given so that they can connect with spirituality also. Environmentalist Padma Bhushan Dr. Anil Joshi said that today\u2019s youth have to be kept away from materialistic civilization so that the culture can be taken forward. Giving the example of Mahakumbh, Dr. Joshi said that Mahakumbh is a symbol of spirituality. Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University, Dr. Narpinder Singh said that science will solve the problems but spirituality works to connect with consciousness. He said that there is a need to increase awareness about spirituality among students. Colonel Ajay Kothiyal told the students to have respect for their parents. Chairman of Gau Seva Aayog Rajendra Anthwal and Director of Aurobindo Society Simmi Mahajan threw light on various topics related to spirituality.
Poster presentation was also organized on this occasion, in which Shweta Upadhyay got the first place while Pragya Mishra and Anurag Maurya stood second. The conference was organized by the Department of Environmental Science and Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of Graphic Era in collaboration with Indian Institute of Sustainability, Appropriate Technology India, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth and Future Icon Delhi. Indian Institute of Sustainability Chairperson Kumar Gaurav, HOD of Department of Humanities and Social Sciences Dr. Prabha Lama, HOD of Environmental Science Dr. Pratibha Naithani, Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Dr. Suman Naithani, Dr. Archana Bacheti, Dr. Nidhi Tyagi and students were also\u00a0 present in the program.
