Raj<\/strong>asthan HC to hear Beawar town house\u00a0 demolition \u00a0case on March 24<\/p>\n

Jaipur, March 12<\/p>\n

Justice Mahendra Kumar Goyaloff \u00a0Rajasthan High Court has ordered the continuation of his earlier order staying the demolition notices given to the alleged accused and their families in an alleged sexual exploitation case in Beawer town of Bijainnagar district by the local municipal authorities till March 24. Earlier, the honourable court had stayed the demolition notices on March 6, 2025.<\/p>\n

In the hearing of the writ petitions on Tuesday, the state government filed an annexure in which it was stated that the municipal authorities had given demolition notices on the application filed by the local people seeking demolition of the houses of the alleged accused in the case.<\/p>\n

Syed Saadat Ali, senior defence counsel sought time to examine and file rejoinder. The court granted ten days\u2019 time to file rejoinder and fixed the next date of hearing on March 24, 2025.<\/p>\n

The \u00a0\u00a0filed by the affected Muslim families facing demolition of their hearths and homes, Justice Mahendra Kumar Goyal stayed the demolition of subject property and ordered maintenance of status quo. The next of date of hearing has been fixed for March 11, 2025.<\/p>\n

Syed Saadat Ali senior defence counsel said that municipal authorities in Beawer town of Bijainnagar district have issued notices to the families of the alleged accused despite the fact that none of the alleged accused in the case own any property.<\/p>\n

The Municipal authorities had issued demolition notices dated February 20, 2025 under section 194 and section 245 of the Rajasthan Municipalities Act, 2099. The affected had filed their responses well in time, but the respondents-municipal authorities wanted \u00a0to demolish their constructions without taking a decision on their response.<\/p>\n

The case has sparked communal tension in the region and following alleged blackmail and sexual exploitation of minor girls by some Muslim youths at Beawar town of Bijainagar district. The ruling BjP and Hindutva organisations had given bandh calls and protest marches in several towns in the region during the last two weeks. The police have so far arrested 10 persons and detained three minors.<\/p>\n

The families of the accused \u00a0faced punitive action, as the Bijainagar Municipality had issued notices to them, asking them to produce documents to prove ownership of their houses. Notices were also issued to the local graveyard and Jama Masjid, and a gate of the graveyard was sealed.<\/p>\n
