\u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 and \u2018Om Parvat yatra\u2019 for the year 2025, will begin from May 14, as the first batch of pilgrims will leave from Kathgodam to Dharchula on that day as per officials of the Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), the government nodal agency conducting the yatra.<\/p>\n
“We have today released schedule of \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 and \u2018Om Parvat yatra\u2019, to make yatra hassle free. Our survey team will soon visit the high altitude region of the yatra,\u201d said V.K Shukla, General Manager of Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN).<\/p>\n
KMVN official at base camp of Dharchula has informed that a total of 13 batches of \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 pilgrims, including 8 batches from Kathgodam and 5 from Dharchula will visit the \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 and \u2018Parwati Sarowar\u2019 besides \u2018Om Parvat\u2019 in first phase of yatra that will conclude in third week of June. The second phase of yatra will begin in the month of September after monsoon, and will continue till November.<\/p>\n
“While the yatra from Kathgodam will take a total of 8 days from Kathgodam and back .The yatra from\u00a0 base camp Dharchula will be of 4 days,\u201d said GM of the nodal agency.<\/p>\n
The yatra was made open for general tourists from the year\u00a0 2021-22 when the road to \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 was completed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).<\/p>\n
According to the schedule, the \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 pilgrims will also visit Chitai Golu, Jageshwar and Patal Bhubaneswar cave on their way back while they will\u00a0also be taken to famous Himalayan view point of Chaukori and Almora town during their \u00a0return journey.<\/p>\n
\u2018Adi Kailash\u2019, a sacred peak inside Indian territory on the Indo-China border, that is included in the five peaks in the name of mount \u2018Kailash\u2019 named as ‘Panch Kailash’, visited by devotees of Lord Shiva from time immemorial but \u00a0\u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 came into limelight\u00a0 in 2023, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the holy place on October 12, 2023.<\/p>\n
“The Prime Minister’s visit to the Holi place resulted in a big boost for the place, as pilgrims started thronging it. The number of pilgrims reached nearly 32000 compared to mere 2000 before the Prime Ministers’s visit as pilgrimage was made open for general public from last year,” said Dhan Singh, a KMVN base camp official in Dharchula. The nodal agency has said that if weather remains friendly, the number of pilgrims to \u2018Adi Kailash\u2019 is expected to be much more.<\/p>\n
