In an inspiring confluence of medicine and literature, the city of Dehradun witnessed a captivating book panel discussion on the evening of July 20, 2025, at the serene Valley of Words {WoW} Cafe, here on thought-provoking book \u201cFrom the Pen of Surgeons\u201d, authored by the distinguished father-son duo orthopaedic surgeons\u2014 Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay and Dr. Gaurav Sanjay.<\/p>\n
The program commenced with an introduction of the authors and the moderator by Dr. Sanjeev Chopra, retired IAS officer and founder of Valley of Words who said that the service of surgeons by pen are many folds more than the service by scalpel.<\/p>\n
This book covers a range of issues of public welfare and national interest including health, education, nutrition and other social issues like road traffic accidents, alcoholism and overpopulation etc. The purpose behind this is to further spread awareness and make the useful information and expert views available for record and reference in a book to concerned citizens and professionals in the medical health and other fields. In their conversation, Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay and Dr. Gaurav Sanjay reflected on real-life moments from their surgical journeys \u2014 revealing how their experiences shaped the stories in the book. The duo emphasized the importance of empathy in medicine, and how storytelling can bridge the gap between doctors and the public.<\/p>\n
