A state government helicopter\u00a0rescued 12 persons who were sick and were stranded in the remotely situated villages of the district and admitted them in respective hospitals. The rescued persons were ill and were trapped in their respective villages due to landslide debris deposited on roads disconnecting their villages rom the main roads, District Disaster Management Officer\u00a0Bhupendra Mahar informed.<\/p>\n
The helicopter rescued 12 villagers from Tejam, Dhar Pangu, Khela, Suwa, Bung Bung, Jamku, Dhami Gaon, Kanar and Makan Kailash villages of\u00a0remote situated sub divisions of Dharchula and Bangapani and admitted them in Dharchula and Pithoragarh hospitals.<\/p>\n
” While 11 sick persons rescued from remote villages, were admitted in Dharchula and Pithoragarh hospitals yesterday, a mother and her child were rescued from Makan Kailash village of Dharchula sub-division and admitted in Dharchula hospital today. Another ill person, Prakash Chand, from Rin Bichul village of Pithoragarh sub- division was sent to Haldwani hospital today as he was serious,” said the DDMO.<\/p>\n
The helicopter was provided to district on request of District Magistrate Vinod Goswami, after he received information from several places of the district that due to prolonged rains in the district several patients are not in position to reach hospitals as the roads to hospitals were blocked due to heavy debris on these.<\/p>\n
“The move to rescue trapped patients is running even today, the helicopter allocated to disaster management purposes is taking sorties to rescue\u00a0sick persons from the villages where the roads are closed due to landslides,” said the DDMO.<\/p>\n
