A deliberation was held at Graphic Era University on key themes such as environmental conservation, waste management, circular economy, and green development. Experts, academicians, and scientists shared their ideas, experiences, and research on these important issues.<\/p>\n
Addressing the valedictory session of the three-day international conference, Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh said that sustainable development can only be achieved when science, society, and policy work together in a coordinated direction and collectively commit to environmental protection. He stated that waste management today is no longer just a technical or policy matter\u2014it has become a global responsibility linked to the very existence of humanity, the future of upcoming generations, and the balance of our planet.<\/p>\n
President of the International Society of Waste Management, Air and Water, Dr. Sadhan Kumar Ghosh, said that this conference successfully brought together experts from various countries on a common platform, encouraging the exchange of new ideas and innovations. Dr. Ghosh emphasized that circular economy, recycling, and the judicious use of resources form the foundation of sustainable development. He added that there is a need to change our perception and start viewing waste not as a burden, but as a valuable resource.<\/p>\n
In this international conference, scientists and researchers from more than 40 countries participated through both online and offline modes. Around 30 technical sessions were held, featuring 291 research paper presentations and 290 abstracts, showcasing innovative studies and practical solutions on topics such as environmental conservation, waste management, circular economy, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
The international conference was jointly organized by Graphic Era Deemed University and the International Society of Waste Management, Air and Water. The event was attended by Retired IAS Officer Mr. Upendra Tripathi, Head of the Department of Environmental Science Professor Pratibha Naithani, Dr. Rachan Karmakar, along with other faculty members and students.<\/p>\n
