Raahat Animal Hospital \u2013 undertakes medical upgrades as part of ongoing rebuilding and expansion<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dehradun, Dec 16<\/p>\n

Raahat Animal Hospital, which has served community animals in Dehradun for more than two decades, is currently progressing through a significant rebuilding and expansion phase. As part of this ongoing transformation, the organisation is preparing to strengthen its diagnostics and treatment facilities through essential medical equipment upgrades.<\/p>\n

These upgrades are one component of Raahat\u2019s long-term plan to create an efficient, one-stop facility where injured, abandoned, and critically ill community animals can receive comprehensive care – from admissions and diagnostics to surgery and recovery – within the hospital campus itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we rebuild the hospital and sanctuary, we want every stage of medical care to become stronger, faster, and more efficient,\u201d said Dr Uttam Singh, Consultant Veterinarian at Raahat. \u201cWith better diagnostic infrastructure, we can treat complex cases in-house without delay.\u201d<\/p>\n

A major step forward in this effort comes from a matching grant commitment by international philanthropist Philip Wollen. His foundation has pledged support for the procurement of key diagnostic equipments, with Raahat working to raise the matching amount through supporters, partner organisations, and compassionate citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are deeply grateful for this partnership,\u201d said Dr J.P. Maithani, Advisor to PFA Dehradun. \u201cIt represents a shared commitment to building humane, science-based systems for community animals.\u201d<\/p>\n

The rebuilding initiative has already seen substantial progress in recent years, with several infrastructure improvements, now completed. These include upgraded recovery units, new housing for vulnerable animals, and enhanced surgery and treatment areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this matching-grant initiative and community participation, we hope to complete the next phase of upgrades soon,\u201d added Dr Uttam. \u201cEvery development strengthens Dehradun\u2019s ability to care for its community animals with dignity and expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n
