Three villages on Indo-China border in Dharchula sub-division of Pithoragarh district namely Dantu, Dugtu and Nagling, have been declared as \u2018Vibrant villages\u2019 by the Government of India and will have all round development getting infrastructure and livelihood, informed Dr Deepak Saini, Pithoragarh Chief Development Officer (CDO).<\/p>\n
“We have sent a Rs 22 crore comprehensive development proposal for development of all 3 villages. After the proposal gets government’s node, we will start developing infrastructural and livelihood facilities with an aim to make the villagers remain in the village round the year,” said CDO.<\/p>\n
The project,\u00a0if approved, would be completed by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN), providing infrastructural facilities, besides creating livelihood facilities like home stays in the villages. “We have also planned an open air theatre in each of the villages,” said the CDO.<\/p>\n
The villages of Darma valley are famous for Panchachuli view as all five peaks of Panchachuli are visible from the valley being the base of Panchachuli.”As we have received over 7000 tourists from all over the country here in Darma valley and if the facilities will increase, the number of tourists will also increase giving villagers livelihood opportunities,” said Jaman Singh, a\u00a0home stay owner in Darma valley.<\/p>\n
” Out of 52 villages at border valleys of Vyans, Darma and Johar, a total of 48 villages have been taken as \u2018Vibrant villages\u2019 as several infrastructural and livelihood projects are running there to make these villagers worth habitation round the year and provided livelihood opportunities there,” said Dr Deepak Saini, CDO, Pithoragarh.<\/p>\n
