A two days national workshop on ‘Coordination between modern science- Technology and traditional knowledge’ was held at Manas College, here.<\/p>\n
The workshop was sponsored by Sobhan Singh Jeena University, Almora, Uttarakhand Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) and People’s Association of Hill Area Launchers (PAHAL) along with the host – Manas college.<\/p>\n
Inauguration the workshop, Professor Satpal Singh Bisht, vice -chancellor of SSJ University, Almora, said that life in modern times is full of consumer goods and instruments to make it easy compared to that of bygone era, the increasing tension to cope with it has compelled us to think of traditional knowledge of our ancestors, that used to give them calm and coolness to live happer lives.” We need to adopt traditional methods of living to make our lives easy and without tension,” said Professor Bisht.<\/p>\n
According to Professor Bisht, the basis of our traditional knowledge has been scientific and we need to work on to ascertain it by adopting it our day to day lives.<\/p>\n
Former VC of SSJ University Dr Narendra Singh Bhandari, speaking on the occasion emphasised on living a life making coordination between modern science and traditional knowledge to make life happy and satisfactory.” The modern way of living may be enriched by taking virtues of\u00a0traditional lifestyle,” said Dr Bhandari.<\/p>\n
Dr Ashok Kumar Pant, founder Director of Manas College and PAHAL organisation said in his address that keeping the increasing tensions in modern way of living, we need to preserve traditional knowledge\u00a0and to work continuously towards finding scientific basis of that knowledge. “The traditional treasure, we have with us from the time of Vedas, needs protection and preservation today. Our this treasure could lead us to become \u2018Vishwa Guru\u2019 in real sense as only our traditional way of life could lead us to a purposeful creative life full of satisfaction, ” said Dr Ashok Pant.<\/p>\n
