The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting by Chief Guest Subodh Uniyal, Health Minister of Uttarakhand, along with distinguished guests Naresh Bansal, Member of Parliament, Padma Shri Kanhaiya Lal Pokhriyal, Dr. S. N. Singh, Orthopaedic surgeon, Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay, Renowned Orthopedic Surgeon, and Dr. Gaurav Sanjay, Orthopaedic surgeon.<br \/>\nPresident AIIMS Guwahati, Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay highlighted that India witnesses nearly 5 lakh road accidents every year, claiming over 1.5 lakh lives. He emphasized creating a nationwide movement for road safety, incorporating it into education, and establishing AIIMS institutions as \u201cRoad Safety Knowledge Centers\u201d. Chief guest , Health Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal announced two new policies of Uttarakhand Government: specialist doctors will serve in hilly regions on a six-month rotation, and residential facilities for their families will be provided in Dehradun and Haldwani.<br \/>\nGuest of honour Naresh Bansal stressed that accidents continue due to non-compliance with rules and said, \u201cOnly a healthy generation can realize the vision of a developed India.\u201d Guest of honour Padma Shri Kanhaiya Lal Pokhriyal urged citizens to maintain cleanliness, while Dr. S. N. Singh highlighted the need for physical, mental, and social balance and raised concern over rising substance abuse among youth.
