Pithoragarh, April 26<\/p>\n

More than 112 species of moth, 92 species of butterflies and 45 species of birds were encountered by participants during the three-day \u2018Nature Festival\u2019, organised at Askot wildlife sanctuary which concluded today with distribution of certificated to participants by Pithoragarh District Forest Officer (DFO) Ashutosh Singh.<\/p>\n

“The rich fauna we witnessed during the nature festival in 3 days included, species of significant moon moth, Cofee Bee hawk moth, common peacock butterfly, the state butterly of Uttarakhand, orange oakleaf butterfly, the national butterfly of India and one of the biggest butterly of india namely golden bird wing butterfly,” said Jagdish Bhatt, Director of \u2018Wings Foundation\u2019. an NGO and a co-sponsor of the festival.<\/p>\n

According to Bhatt, the 24 participants who reached Askot wild life sanctuary from different part of country to take part in the festival also witnessed presence of\u00a0 Monal, Griffin vulture, and\u00a0king vulture.<\/p>\n
