Uttarakhand Foundation of North America Chairperson Runjhun Saklani who met the Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, called for strengthening collaboration between the state and its global diaspora.<\/p>\n
During the meaningful interaction, the Chief Secretary appreciated the proactive efforts of the Pravasi Cell Uttarakhand in engaging Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and encouraging them to contribute to the development of their home state. The discussion highlighted a growing trend of reverse migration, where members of the diaspora are returning to Uttarakhand to invest, serve, and reconnect with their roots.<\/p>\n
Runjhun Saklani elaborated on the foundation\u2019s impactful grassroots initiatives, in education, healthcare, and agriculture, highlighting the highly regarded summer educational programs in partnership with \u2018Kitaab Club\u2019 designed to cultivate young intellects and promote cultural and educational development. She provided insights on different collaborative initiatives that align with government efforts to empower local communities. She also recognized that Sudhir Nautiyal has played a key role in linking NRIs and supporting these significant initiatives via the Pravasi Cell.<\/p>\n
As a gesture of cultural pride and connection, she presented the annual magazine \u2018Patrika Kauthigh\u2019 to the Chief Secretary. The publication reflects how Uttarakhand\u2019s global community continues to uphold and celebrate its rich cultural heritage despite living abroad.<\/p>\n
Accompanying her was Anita Thapliyal Sharma, a distinguished autism advocate and a strong proponent of reverse migration. Inspired by the initiatives of the Pravasi Cell, she has established a pioneering, holistic autism center in Dehradun\u2014one of its kind in the region\u2014dedicated to supporting children on the autism spectrum through comprehensive and inclusive programs.<\/p>\n
