RIMC cadets complete Indian Army\u2019s prestigious Zorawar Cycle Rally to Inspire youth on World Bicycle Day<\/p>\n

The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, has achieved a remarkable<\/p>\n
milestone as its contingent successfully completed the Indian Army\u2019s prestigious Zorawar<\/p>\n
Cycle Rally, demonstrating exceptional courage, endurance, discipline, and teamwork in one<\/p>\n
of the country\u2019s most challenging high-altitude cycling expeditions. The World Cycle Day is celebrated on June 3.<\/p>\n
The RIMC team, comprising Lt. Col. Rakesh Kumar, Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Art Department and<\/p>\n
Adventure Coordinator), and four cadets, undertook the demanding rally through the<\/p>\n
rugged Himalayan terrain of Pithoragarh district. Beginning at Gunji, the route traversed<\/p>\n
snow-covered stretches, steep mountain roads, low-oxygen high-altitude passes, and<\/p>\n
unpredictable weather conditions before reaching the sacred Om Parvat through the<\/p>\n
strategically significant Lipu Lekh Pass.<\/p>\n
Covering nearly 750 kilometres, the expedition concluded at Pithoragarh, where the<\/p>\n
participants were felicitated by the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General (Retd.)<\/p>\n
Gurmit Singh. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the importance of courage, self-<\/p>\n
reliance, physical fitness, and commitment to national service.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the achievement, Colonel Rahul Agarwal, Commandant, RIMC, emphasized that<\/p>\n
adventure activities such as cycling play a vital role in developing leadership, resilience,<\/p>\n
teamwork, and mental toughness among future military leaders. He reiterated RIMC\u2019s<\/p>\n
commitment to providing opportunities that challenge cadets physically and mentally while<\/p>\n
nurturing a lifelong culture of fitness.<\/p>\n
Cycling has become an integral component of life at RIMC, with cadets regularly<\/p>\n
participating in cycling expeditions, endurance rides, and fitness activities. The institution<\/p>\n
actively encourages both boys and girls to embrace outdoor adventure and healthy<\/p>\n
lifestyles.<\/p>\n
Mr. Sanjay Kumar, an avid cyclist, marathon runner, and adventure enthusiast, has been<\/p>\n
instrumental in promoting cycling among cadets and the wider community. On the occasion<\/p>\n
of World Bicycle Day, he encouraged young people to adopt cycling as a daily habit,<\/p>\n
highlighting its benefits for physical and mental well-being, environmental conservation,<\/p>\n
and sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n
