\u2018Kailash Mansarowar\u2019 pilgrims have complained that they were not allowed to take the traditional dip in the sacred Mansarowar lake for a sacred bath and were being allowed to take a bucket of water away\u00a0 from lake and take bath by a mug.<\/p>\n
Indian pilgrims also complained of lack of toilets in Mansarowar Parikrama path. Pilgrims of first batch that returned recently shared\u00a0their experiences with local media at Dharchula base camp and their version was confirmed by the administrative sources in Dharchula.<\/p>\n
“Keeping the cleanliness of Mansarowar lake, Chinese authorities have prevented dip in the lake from 2018 and allowing the Indian pilgrims bath only in the lake water taken away in a bucket,” said Ashish Joshi, SDM of Dharchula who had talked to pilgrims of first batch returned recently after completing the pilgrimage of Kailash and Mansarowar.”After some pilgrims had started taking bath in the lake using soap, \u00a0Chinese authorities might have taken this step to prevent pollution in the lake,” said the SDM.<\/p>\n
Dhan Singh Bisht, incharge of base camp said quoting some first batch pilgrims that before 2019, all the hotels and food joints were with local Tibetan residents whereas the present setup has totally gone with Chinese Han people.<\/p>\n
Anil Kumar Jain, a pilgrim of first batch from Rajasthan who had travelled to the Kailash Mansarowar 7th times said that before 2018, there was no restriction on taking dip in the lake. “The step might have been taken to prevent lake from getting polluted, ” he said.<\/p>\n
Bhupesh Pant, an Indian pilgrim of first batch said that during Kailash parikrama path, the pilgrims faced problems of lack of sufficient toilets. “Specially the toilets were not sufficiently available at Depapuk and Jhanjhui locations of parikrama path,”said Pant. “As traditional Indian food is not served by Chinese there in Tibet, Indian pilgrims take desi cooks with them to have food of their taste during their stay in Tibet,” said Dhan Singh.<\/p>\n
