The Uttarakhand Insaniyat Manch and the Uttarakhand Mahila Manch met members of the Muslim community in Kargi Grant today to assure their support in their fight against hate. Recently, certain individuals belonging to Hindu Raksha Dal, allegedly having the patronage of police and state administration, had attempted to incite communal hatred in the area. Later, Lalit Sharma, a socalled leader of Hindu Raksha Dal \u00a0released a video in which he made extremely shameful and derogatory remarks against women.<\/p>\n
During the interaction, residents of Kargi Grant stated that even if Lalit Sharma held a grievance against a specific individual, spewing venom against the entire community was completely unjustifiable. While the locals merely protested by raising slogans, a case was registered against them based on allegations of stone-pelting and misconduct towards women present at the scene\u2014incidents that never actually occurred. No video footage from that day shows any stone-pelting or any form of molestation or harassment of women.<\/p>\n
The residents clearly stated that some members of the Muslim community are actually in league with Lalit Sharma. These individuals are involved in the land trade and manufacture Hindu-Muslim conflicts to mask their own misdeeds. People expressed frustration that despite Lalit Sharma repeatedly spewing venom against Muslims, no concrete action is being taken against him.<\/p>\n
Nirmala Bisht of the Uttarakhand Mahila Manch stated that the humiliation of women would not be tolerated under any circumstances. She affirmed that they would assist in legal action against Lalit Sharma for his shameful remarks, lodge a formal complaint with the authorities, and stage protests if necessary. Pressure will be mounted on the police to immediately extern Lalit Sharma from the district, given his repeated involvement in such activities.<\/p>\n
The delegation met with several prominent members of the Kargi Grant area and the Muslim community, including Md. Zakir Hussain, Sarwar, Tanveer, Imran Rana, Shah Nazar, and Danish. The delegation included Prof. N. Raghavendra, Kamala Pant, Vimala Koli, Nirmala Bisht, Hariom Pali, Parmendra Singh Kakkar, and Trilochan Bhatt. During a meeting with local residents, it was decided that they would meet the Dehradun SSP on Monday to urge him to take strict action in this matter. Hariom Pali expressed regret that individuals like Lalit Sharma had attempted to give a communal color to the Bairagiwala incident as well. Although a memorandum demanding action against these individuals had been submitted to the SSP previously, but no such action was taken.<\/p>\n
Kamala Pant stated that Lalit Sharma makes heinous remarks\u2014such as talking about extracting and killing unborn babies from women’s wombs\u2014yet the police continue to treat him with leniency and \u00a0this would no longer be tolerated. It was also decided at the meeting that if a case is not registered against Lalit Sharma for inciting communal disharmony and if he is not arrested, a major agitation will be launched in the coming days, for which the administration will bear full responsibility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
