To promote the natural beauty of Darma and Vyans valleys of border district of Pithoragarh with an intention to attract more and more tourists to the border region at Indo-China border, Uttarakhand tourism department is planning a moto adventure bike ride to these valleys.”We have invited renowned vloggers of tbe country for the rally as the region could get publicity through these vloggers,” said Kriti Chandra Arya, District Tourist Officer, Pithoragarh.
The Moto adventure ride will begin from October 17, this year when the bikers will travel 175 km from Pithoragarh district headquarter to Fantu village of Darma valley. ” On 18th October, the bikers will return to Narayan Ashram, 65 km downwards from the Darma valley to take a 80 km long ride to Gunji village of Vyans valley. The bikers will ride to 110 km long distances including ‘Adi Kailash’ region of Jolingkong and Nabhidhang from Gunji ,”said the DTO.
According to tourist department officials, the programme is being organised to follow instructions from Union Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, to facilitate adventure tourists from across the country so that these border valleys could get more tourists in the autumn and winter season.”It aims ultimately to get round the year livelihood for locals to make the valley vibrant and to check migration from these valleys,” said the tourist department offficials.
The Vyans region of ‘Adi Kailash’ became internationally known in October last year when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited ‘Adi Kailash’ on October 12.” After Modi’s visit, the number of pilgrims to ‘Adi Kailash’ increased to 25527 till today. The number of pilgrims used to be at not more than 3000 before the Prime Minister’s visit.
