Limited permits for second phase of ‘Adi Kailash yatra’ due to weather condition

Limited number of inner line permits would be issued to pilgrims in the second phase of ‘Adi Kailash yatra’, due to uncertainty of weather conditions in upper Dharchula region.
“We have decided to issue inner line permits to those pilgrims, who have already reached Dharchula for the second phase of yatra which will start from September 15, as announced earlier,” said Manjit Singh, in charge Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dharchula.
More than 400 ‘Adi Kailash’ pilgrims have already reached Dharchula, from all over the country.” We have requested tour operators, not to call pilgrims before September 20,” said the SDM.
“Keeping the sensitivity of road to Gunji at Kulagad and Dobat, we have also ordered construction companies, operating in this part of Dharchula to Lipulekh road, to keep their machinery at these spots, for ,if the road gets closed due to landslides, it could be opened within hours,” said the SDM.
According to the schedule, decided by administration in the meeting of tour operators and officials of Taxi Union, Dharchula, each vehicle, plying towards Gunji camp will begin it’s journey after 10 am and no vehicle will be allowed from Dharchula to Gunji and from Gunji towards Dharchula, after 4 pm every day.
A total of 23532 pilgrims visited ‘Adi Kailash’ in the first phase of yatra this year, the first phase ran from May 30 to July 7.
Last year, more than 31000 pilgrims visited the ‘Adi Kailash’ and ‘Om Parvat’ pilgrimage.
