CS assures to help provide drinking water facility to parents of Ankita Bhandari

Dehradun, Feb 20

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan was unaware about the facilities provided to the parents of deceased Ankita Bhandari who was killed in 2021 by the state government. This came to light when a delegation of ‘Ankita Nyaya yatra Sanykut Sangharash Samiti’ met the Chief Secretary to discuss the problem faced by the parents of Ankita Bhandari in accessing drinking water in their village.

According to delegation members, the Chief Secretary listened sympathetically and assured them of strict instructions to address the problem. When asked about other government-announced facilities, he expressed ignorance. Regarding the tender awarded to the family of the murder accused, he stated that orders for the cancellation of the tender had been issued. In addition to Kamala Pant, the delegation included Dr. Uma Bhatt, Sujata Paul, and Suraj.

Meanwhile, a letter addressed to the President, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and the CBI Director, requesting a CBI investigation into the Ankita Bhandari murder case under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge is being sent.

Kamala Pant convenor of the samiti stated that a letter is being sent demanding a CBI investigation into the VIP criminals whose names have surfaced, under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge.

The Samiti has requested an appointment with the Governor of Uttarakhand so that the letter can be forwarded to the President through the Governor, but even after a week, the Governor has not given an appointment.

It has been decided to march from Gandhi Park to the Raj Bhavan on February 26th, to present the letter to the Governor.
