Two medical students held for chain snatching at Jauljibi

Pithoragarh, Feb 27

Two students from Shusheela Tiwari Medical College at Haldwani, were arrested by Pithoragarh police station Jauljibi on the charges of snatching a golden chain of a village woman at Toli village of Jauljibi according to Akshay Prahlad Kondey, Superintendent of Police (SP),Pithoragarh.

The students namely Sanni Singh(25), a resident of Pachim Vihar, New Delhi and Himani Bora (23), a resident of Nainital district were arrested.

 

“The medical students, who had reached in far distant village of Jauljibi on a motor bike on the invitation of Himani Bora, a radiology student, who is a resident of Nainital district and has some relations in the village, where they stayed, snatched a mobile phone and gold chain of a woman who was going to work in the village early morning on February 25, “said the SP.

According to police, both medical students were arrested near a bridge on River Gori, from where they were trying to flee.”The victim after being robbed, immediately rushed  to Jauljibi police station and lodged a report about the incident. The police formed two  teams to arrest the culprits and later sent the culprits to jail,” said SP.
