‘Adi Kailash yatra’ from May 1

The doors of ‘Adi Kailash’ temple, situated in Jolingkong of Vyans valley, will be opened on May 1, as ‘Adi Kailash yatra’ of the year will start on same day, Pithoragarh District Magistrate Ashish Bhatgai said.
” The inner line permits for the yatra, will be issued by SDM ,Dharchula office from April 28, as the pilgrims will be able to apply through online portal,” said Pithoragarh DM after taking a meeting of officials concerned with preparation of the yatra.
He ordered the concerned officials to prepare for essential requirements like drinking water, health, road, toilets, security and sanitation facilities for pilgrims to make the ‘Adi Kailash yatra’ easy and convenient for pilgrims, who come here from all parts of the country. “Pithoragarh ADM, Yogendra Singh will visit Gunji base camp before yatra begins, with a team of officers to take stock of facilities on the yatra route and do the needful, ” said the DM.
According to DM Pithoragarh, ITBP has been requested to provide medical facilities to pilgrims at every camp it manages from Gunji base.
