Stray animals to get radium belts for safety

In a move to save the stray animals moving on the road as well as vehicles plying, the Champawat district administration as per the road safety instructions issued by the Supreme Court, has initiated a drive to install radium belts on every stray animals on Champawat – Tanakpur – Banbasa road so that animals are visible from a distance to vehicle drivers in a bid to advert road accidents as well as safety of stray animals roaming on this road. .
“We have already started the work of covering every stray animal on this 90 km long road that falls under the district, after instructions of the District Magistrate. The Chief Veterinary Officer has been instructed to do so from his own department,” said Anil Joshi, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Zila Panchayat, Champawat.
