The vehicular transportation to high Himalayan valleys on Indo-China and Indo- Nepal border, has been restored after Border Roads Organisation (BRO) last evening completed the construction another Bailley bridge at Kulagar, according to Asish Joshi, SDM, Dharchula.

“The Kulagar bridge, on Dharchula to Gunji border road which was washed away on August 18, last month was again inaugurated by Chief Engineer of the ‘Hirak’ project M.L. Kom of BRO .

The length of newly constructed bailey bridge is 170 meters.

“The bridge was washed away in rains on August 18 after been hit by a heavy boulder. The BRO team with one assistant engineer and 6 junior engineers besides 35 labourers, completed reconstruction of another bridge in 16 days time restoring the transportation to border valleys,” said Ashish Joshi, SDM, Dharchula.

“Though we had constructed an alternate way to higher Himalayan region but due to it’s narrow size all vehicles were not able to go through it. Now  the new bridge has been constructed, all vehicles will now be able to reach high Himalayan valleys of Darma and Vyans,” said the SDM.
