Dehradun, September 7: Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Prof. (Dr.) Kamal Ghanshala, said that difficulties are an inevitable part of the journey of growth. As we move forward, the challenges also become bigger. People often believe that the journey becomes easier once a milestone is achieved, but that is not the case.
Dr. Ghanshala was addressing the gathering at Graphic Era’s 34th Foundation Day celebrations. A total of 585 teachers and staff members, who have been associated with Graphic Era for 10 to 30 years, were honoured during the ceremony. The two universities witnessed a festive atmosphere from the morning. The celebrations began with a function at Graphic Era Hill University, where Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala and Vice Chairperson Dr. Rakhee Ghanshala cut the cake. Employees were also felicitated for completing 10 to 30 years of service.
The main Foundation Day celebration was held later in the evening at the Silver Jubilee Convention Centre. On the occasion, Founder Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala and Vice Chairperson Dr. Rakhee Ghanshala felicitated Graphic Era’s Chief Patron, Engineer Shri R.C. Ghanshala, and President of Graphic Era Educational Society, Smt. Laxmi Ghanshala.
Recalling Graphic Era’s 33-year journey, Dr. Ghanshala said that the journey was much more than a story of achievements—it was a story of the hard work, dedication and unwavering trust of the people who stood firmly with the institution through every phase. Their continued support gave new direction and momentum to Graphic Era’s growth. He said that behind the institution’s identity today lies the collective effort of countless people and the strength of their faith, which enabled Graphic Era to move forward despite every challenge.
He said that every success brings newer and more complex challenges. Therefore, it is important to continuously expand our capabilities and prepare ourselves for what lies ahead. He added that people’s expectations and our responsibilities are increasing every year. Dr. Ghanshala said that Gen Z has a greater learning capacity than previous generations and has access to comparatively more information. To understand Gen Z, teachers must step into their world and understand their thinking, expectations and concerns.
The celebrations also turned into a vibrant showcase of the cultural talent of teachers and Graphic Era officials. Making the evening memorable, Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala enthralled the audience with the popular song, “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye, Jab Koi Mushkil Pad Jaye, Tum Dena Saath Mera…” Hundreds of teachers and students switched on their mobile phone flashlights during his performance, transforming the hall into a sea of twinkling lights. Responding to requests from the audience, he also sang “Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega, Beta Hamara Aisa Kaam Karega, Magar Ye Koi Na Jaane Ki Meri Manzil Hai Kahan” along with several other songs, drawing an enthusiastic response.
The stage came alive with one performance after another. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Narpinder Singh matched the beats of the dhol with an energetic bhangra performance, drawing thunderous applause from the audience. Dean Dr. D.R. Gangodkar performed to a Marathi song, while Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Sagar, Head of the School of Management at Graphic Era Hill University, presented a ghazal. Dr. Jigisha Anand performed Kathak and Shivani Pandey presented Bharatanatyam. The Garhwali folk dance by Gayatri Semwal and team, an engaging dance performance by Mr. Abhishek Gupta and his team, and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Sharma’s entertaining anecdotes related to education in Haryana added to the evening. Saheb Sablok’s songs, Rahul Kesari’s dance performance, the duet by Isha and Juhi Deshmukh, and Nikhil Verma’s flute performance further added to the celebration.
Mr. Arvind Pujari, Mr. Anil Kumar Chauhan, Dr. Mohantesh, Mr. Amrish Sharma, Dr. Manish Kumar Bisht, Sushil Chandra Dimri, Navneet Raturi, Deepak Singh Rana, Anil Dhasmana, Dr. Ajay Sharma, Harish Sharma, Dr. D.R. Gangodkar, Dr. Himanshu Goyal, Dr. Pratibha Naithani, Dr. Neha Tripathi, Amar Dabral, Subodh Pundir, Sahib Sablok, Praveen Singh, CA Preeti Sharma, Devendra Singh, among others, were honoured along with 585 teachers and staff members. The awardees included employees who have completed more than 30 years of service as well as those who have been associated with the institution for over 10 years.
