Three of the seven All-India quota MBBS seats at Babu Jagjivan Ram Medical College in Pithoragarh have been filled up to the third round of counselling, while the fourth round is scheduled to begin today, Principal Dr A.K. Singh said.

“We have seven All-India quota seats and 43 state quota seats out of the 50 seats allocated to the college by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Three students have secured admission against the All-India quota seats so far. The admission process will continue until October 26,” Dr Singh said.

The principal added that counselling for the state quota seats had already begun and would be completed before October 26, when the college’s academic session is scheduled to commence.

Asked whether the college had adequate faculty in accordance with NMC norms, Dr Singh said the faculty requirements for the next three academic years had been met and more faculty members were still joining.

“We are fully prepared to commence classes on October 26,” he said.
