Helicopter service from Pithoragarh to Munsiyari started from today as a Heritage aviation helicopter reached Munsiyari helipad from Pithoragarh at 11 am.
” We have started two heli services besides Pithoragarh to Munsiyari service, we also began Haldwani to Almora service from today,” said Rohit Mathur, CEO of Heritage Aviation, the company running the heli services.
According to Mathur, the heli services to Munsiyari from Pithoragarh will have two sorties daily.” The heli services started today and 7 other services already in operation are being run under ‘UDAN’ scheme of Government of India,” he said.
“The 7 seater maiden heli service was welcomed by people of Munsiyari as a large number of people gathered at the helipad. The helicopter stopped for 15 minutes during which a pooja ceremony was conducted by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami via video conferencing, attended by Tehsildar of Munsiyari,”said Puran Pandey, a resident of Munsiyari.
According to Pandey, the people have requested the Chief Minister to reduce Rs. 2500 one side fare to and from Munsiyari to make it more convenient for common passengers.
