Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre gets FOGSI certification
Dehradun, Sept 21
Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre, a private hospital at Jakhan, Dehradun has received the FOGSI Recognition Certification. The Manyata FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India) is a professional society which periodically assesses the quality of work of hospitals and their improvement and it ensures that private facilities adhere to quality care standards mandated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and provide safe and respectful care to their patients.
The initiative focuses on creating an efficient and competent team of doctors and nurses who cover every aspect of pregnancy based on 16 clinical parameters ranging from antenatal care to postnatal family planning counselling. This initiative brings a significant difference in the way pregnant mothers are treated and managed by trained nurses, especially in the management of life-threatening complications like PPH (postpartum haemorrhage), eclampsia etc.
Dr. Sujatha Sanjay, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre, said, “Our hospital is dedicated to providing quality care at all stages of a woman’s life span. So, for a hospital like ours where a lot of rules were already in place, recognition not only gave us an opportunity to re-emphasise those rules, but also made us more organized than before and helped us introspect ourselves. The curriculum is very broad, and the training sessions are structured in such a way that everything is explained simply but in great depth. Overall, this has been a gratifying program for our nursing staff and I would recommend others to undergo the accreditation training.
Padma Shri Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay, Director of the hospital, said that the quality of any work depends on the quality of the worker and the quality of the worker depends on his education and training. He further said that the FOGSI’s recognition certification initiative aims to ensure that the maternal and health related priorities of the country are met and women receive the quality care they deserve. The accreditation certification is based on a rigorous period of rigorous training and evaluation on clinical standards to improve quality so that certification is awarded only to those facilities that are providing the optimal level of care, he added.
