Pithoragarh military station adjudged second in clean, green stations of the country

Pithoragarh military station has received second prize in all army stations, in sub category of clean, green and sustainable army station for the year 2024 -25, according to an army press release.

Brigadier Gautam Pathania, station commander of Army station, Pithoragarh, received this award from the Chief of Army Staff Gen Upendra Dwivedi, on October 7, this year, at army headquarter, New Delhi.

“The Pithoragarh military station during the said year has stood out for strategic green practices, waste management systems, afforestation drives and community led awareness campaigns for the populace of in and surrounding areas of station,” said the information.

“The COAS, praised the exemplary work done by station towards environmental conservation, in and around the station and lauded the dedication efficiency and commitment shown by personnels and families residing the station for their collective contribution towards cause of sustainability in and surrounding areas of the station,” said the press note.

“The COAS also praised the benchmark execution of environmentally conscious initiatives of station towards enhancing quality of life not only within the station but also creation positive impact towards sanitation on neighbouring communities.”

“The accolade marks not only a significant achievement for Pithoragarh military station but also underscores Indian Army’s broader commitment towards environmental stewardship and  sustainable development,” claimed the press note released by Pithoragarh Military station.
