Symposium on Terahertz at Graphic Era University
Symposium on Terahertz at Graphic Era University
Dehradun, November 21
Experts from India and abroad discussed the emerging developments in photonics and quantum materials at an international symposium on next-generation photonics and quantum materials organized at Graphic Era Deemed University, here today. From the University of Adelaide, Australia, Prof. Derek Abbott said that the current era of science is a time when emerging technologies like photonics and terahertz sensing are giving a new direction to our future. He explained that terahertz waves enable us to see, measure, and understand things that were earlier impossible due to technological limitations.
From IIT Delhi, Prof. Anurag Sharma said that optical fiber is the backbone of communication technology, and today’s rapidly advancing digital world is the biggest example of this. He added that these technologies influence areas ranging from high-speed internet to quantum communication and sensor-based industries.
The symposium was also addressed by from TIFR Mumbai, Scientist and Prof. Shriganesh Prabhu, and from Banaras Hindu University, Prof. Rakesh Kumar Singh.
Teachers. Students from Graphic Era Deemed University and Chaudhary Charan Singh University participated in this international symposium through both online and offline modes. At the end of the event, a quiz was conducted to assess students’ awareness and understanding of standards.
This symposium was jointly organized by the Department of Physics, Graphic Era Deemed University, and Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. The event was attended by Registrar Dr. Naresh Kumar Sharma, from Graphic Era Deemed University, HOD Dr. F. S. Gill, from BIS, Nodal Officer Dr. Brijesh Prasad, from Graphic Era Deemed University, Dr. Kiran Sharma, Dr. Sakshi Juyal, Dr. Deepak Kumar, from CCS University, Dr. Anil Malik, Dr. Neeraj Panwar, along with several other faculty members and students.
