Vice Chief of Air Staff & AWWA Vice President visit RIMC, Inspire Cadets Towards Leadership & Nation-Building

Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun had the honour of hosting the Vice Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Narmadeshwar Tiwari, SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, VM, accompanied by Mrs. Richa Tiwari, Vice President, Air Force Family Welfare Association. The visit marked a momentous occasion for the College, celebrating the homecoming of one of its most distinguished alumni and an eminent military leader.
Air Marshal Tiwari was received by the Commandant, Col Rahul Agarwal & spouse Mrs Silvi Agarwal on behalf of entire team RIMC. The visit commenced with paying homage to the martyrs at the College War memorial and thereafter a detailed briefing on the College’s academic excellence, training curriculum, sports infrastructure, and new initiatives aimed at preparing cadets for the rigours of the National Defence Academy and the Armed Forces.
The Vice Chief reviewed the academic, training, and infrastructure facilities and thereafter interacted extensively with the cadets. In his inspiring address at the Thimayya Auditorium, he urged Rimcollians to embrace the Armed Forces as a noble profession rooted in service, integrity, courage, and excellence. Drawing from his illustrious journey in uniform, he encouraged cadets to develop strong military leadership attributes, uphold high moral standards, and contribute meaningfully to Viksit Bharat–2047. He also commended the cadets for their stellar performance in the recent NDA examination, where RIMC secured 5 out of the Top 10 All India Ranks, reinforcing the College’s legacy of producing exceptional leaders.
Mrs. Richa Tiwari, interacting with the cadets and faculty, emphasised the importance of nurturing soft skills, emotional intelligence, and holistic grooming alongside academic and military proficiency. She appreciated the confidence, discipline, and etiquette demonstrated by the cadets and encouraged them to continue striving for personal and professional excellence.
As part of the day’s engagements, the dignitaries participated in a tree plantation ceremony, symbolising growth, continuity, and environmental responsibility. They also attended a felicitation ceremony and enjoyed a traditional RIMC cadets’ mess lunch, savouring the flavours of Rimcollian hospitality. The visit concluded with an informal social evening, offering a warm opportunity for meaningful interaction with faculty and staff.
The visit of Air Marshal Tiwari and Mrs. Richa Tiwari added immense motivation and pride to the RIMC fraternity. Their gracious presence, inspiring words, and personal engagement with cadets reaffirmed RIMC’s steadfast commitment to nurturing future military leaders of character, competence, and vision.
