Satpal Maharaj calls for early completion of land post at Gudmi

Uttarakhand PWD Minister Satpal Maharaj has instructed the officers to complete the Rs 500 crore land port project, being constructed at Indo-Nepal border region of Banbasa in Champawat district by April 2027.
The Banbasa land port, being developed by Land Port Authority of India, at Gudmi region at Indo-Nepal border, will enhance trade between India and Nepal by availing all trade facilities under one umbrella.
“The port, fitted with modern security system smart surveillance machinery and modern management system will not only increase Indo-Nepal trade but passenger facilities as well,” said the Minister.
The land port, on completion, will enhance local employment in both countries of India and Nepal by providing an integrated secure and easy commercial families for the industrial and agricultural goods of both countries and persons. “The port is a strategically significant entity at Indo-Nepal border, that will benefit travellers and merchants of both the countries,” said Satpal Maharaj.
