Keeping imminent monsoon rains and increasing number of ‘Adi Kailash’ pilgrims in view, Pithoragarh district administration has issued an advisory to pilgrims to not undertake yatra to ‘Adi Kailash’ from Dharchula and return travel from Gunji to Dharchula after 4 pm onwards from June 17, Dharchula SDM Ashish joshi said in a video message.
“Keeping in mind the safety of pilgrims and others, who had to travel to high Himalayan region in imminent monsoon season, we have issued the advisory going towards Vyans or Darma valley from Dharchula after 4 pm, could be risky, therefore the pilgrims and other travellers should avoid to go there after 4 pm,” said the SDM.
According to SDM due to rains, the landslide zones situated on way to Darma and Vyans valleys could become active and pose problems of safety to the travellers during night time.”We have over 44000 ‘Adi Kailash’ pilgrims till date this year and the influx continues and yatra without taking precautions could become risky, “said the SDM.
