Uttarakhand Film Festival to be held in Sept and Oct this year

A touring film festival, based on major languages and themes of Uttarakhand region, will be organised in the months of September and October this year, informed Uday Pant, a retired officer of Indian Accounts Service and an organiser of the festival.
“The feature films, documentaries and short films, made on local themes by producers of Kumaoni, Garhwali and Jaunsari origins, will be shown in the festival, that will be organised at four places- Pithoragarh, (27-28 September), Haldwani (30 September 1st October), Rudrapur (2-4 October) and Dehradun on 6 to 7 October this year,” said Pant.
“The film festival and follow up discussion on possibility of local films production, that has approval of Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry, National Film Development Board, and Government of Uttarakhand, will also be used as a forum to have communication with local film artists and youths willing to join film line for employment,” said the organiser.
The festival is being sponsored by various organisations like, Navodaya Media, Centre for Solution of Social and Management Problems, Uttarakhand Open University, Haldwani, Manas Institutions, Pithoragarh, Delhi Public School, Rudrapur, Creative Uttarakhand, Kitab Kautihg and Himalayan Cultural Centre at Dehradun.
